Program Spotlight

National Frontier Research Program

FTI’s National Frontier Research Program is a selective summer research experience for high school students to participate in real-world research at the technological frontier. In partnership with Columbia University’s School of Engineering, students research in-depth training in an emerging technology field and then work in either a research lab or in a mentor-led research project.

Applications are now open for Summer 2026.

Two men, one older with glasses and a patterned shirt, and a younger man in a blue shirt, are engaged in conversation at a scientific conference. The older man is pointing at a research poster titled "Synthetically light-modulated spin squeezing on a molecular qubit platform" displayed on an easel.

Educators, we heard you.

Teaching emerging technologies shouldn’t require building everything from scratch.

That’s why we’re building a one-stop platform for emerging technology education so you can confidently bring frontier technologies into your classroom with confidence.
